hold a meeting at Congress Bhawan with all the PCC leaders to initiate the process of selection of Congress party contestants.
In the meeting, five nominees have been shortlisted for the two Lok Sabha seats. Four names - Arunudoy Saha, Ashok Sinha, Basana Debnath and Laxmi Nag have been shortlisted for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency, while Royal scion of the state – Pradyot Kishore Deb Burman has been nominated unanimously for the East Tripura Lok Sabha constituency.
Pradesh Congress Committee president - Diba Chandra Hrankhawl, CLP leader–Sudip Roy Barman, Pradesh Congress Committee working president – Asish Saha, former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Roy Barman, Congress MLA and former PCC president – Gopal Roy, Congress MLA Jiten Sarkar including other PCC members were present in the meeting.
Sources added that Bora will submit the report to the screening committee by January 24 next.
V Narayanasamy is the chairman of the selection committee for the state including Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Sikkim.
It is worthy to mention here that AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi held meeting with five AICC members of the state at AICC.
